an introduction..
The transformation God has made in Christians through Christ is so extensive, that the places we call home have essentially changed. Our old ways become foreign and we no longer resonate with the old thinking and practices of the world around us. We must now navigate what it means to to be both in the world but not of it. In 1 Peter 2:11, Peter refers to believers as foreigners, aliens or even strangers in order to convey how extensive the transformation should be reflected in how we walk in our everyday lives.
1 Thessalonians 5:14-18 says to admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all. See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
